Dunnabeck Horse Trials

Welcome to Dunnabeck Horse Trials

On May 8, 2009 the Southern Illinois area, home to the Dunnabeck Horse Trials, suffered  severe storm damage due to an unusually devastating wind storm.

The grounds of the Dunnabeck Horse Trials were devastated by high winds and severe rain.  Trees were uprooted, many young trees were broken and bowed, and old mature deeply rooted trees were left with just the root balls showing.   The grounds were littered with logs, branches and other debris.  The lovely forested trails where the horses galloped were damaged and covered with downed trees and limbs.

Phillip Dutton's earnest mount Bailey Wick The Dunnabeck Organizing committee made the sad decision to cancel this year’s recognized event.  However, a one day unrecognized event will be held to subsidize the costs of repairing the grounds, in hopes of having  an even lovelier event on Sept. 18 and 19, 2010.

We hope you will join us for our One Day Horse Trials/Combined Test.  We have included a "Green as Grass" level for the youngest riders and greenest horses.   Please see the tentative schedule of events and follow the listed links for all the necessary information.
